10 years ago Kris came east to spend a winter guiding for Chocpaw Expeditions. Today, Kris has started on a new direction. Part of his dream was to have his own kennel of racing sled dogs. This will be his focus now. This does not mean Kris is finished here at Chocpaw. He still hopes to help with running dogs & facilitating trips, just not full time.
Kris spent several years guiding both dog sled expeditions & canoe trips. He worked with Rene training & running mid distance races. http://www.chocpaw.com/kris-sampson/ http://www.chocpaw.com/kris-sampson/ http://www.chocpaw.com/kris-sampson/ http://www.chocpaw.com/kris-sampson/The last few years he has focused on the shorter mids & has become a respected force on the circuit racing in Ontario & the U.S.
Both in racing & working the expedition dogs Kris is known for his gentle & positive training methods. He has been a source of information & inspiration to new staff at Chocpaw.
Although he will take this year to firm plans & organize, his presence will still be felt on the race trail this winter as his plan is to help Keri train & prepare for a run at the World Competition in 2017.
We at Chocpaw wish Kris well in his new job & look forward to his continued involvement in our programs & with the staff. As well, we extend our congratulations to Kris & Heather on their marriage last week. Heather has long been an important part of Chocpaw.
